15.7 mi W of jet US 666 & US 191 at
Monticello.
Plants quite common along rocky hwy shoulder
and in clayish, hard soil in adjacent
pasture. 0.75-2.0 ft. tall. Most plants
with 1-several stems from the base. In full
flower. Growing with various weeds and
growing intermixed and apparently hybridizing
(Wetter 977) with the radiate G. laciniata
Rydb. (Wetter 978 & 980). This taxon most
numerous near the hwy shoulder. Wetter 979
is part of the same taxon and collection but
from the Colorado side of the border.
