Distribution
The New York Botanical Garden Plants of UTAH Grindelia squarrosa (Pursh) Dunal var. serrulata (Rydb.) Steyerm. UT: Grand Co. Along Interstate-70, 5.2 mi W of Utah-Colorado state line, just past Westwater exit. Very abundant along hwy and exit ramps. Plants forming pure stands in some areas. 1.0-3.5 ft. tall. Most plants appear to be biennials, although some of the shorter plants appear to be perennials with basal rosettes forming on flowering plants. Growing intermixed and apparently hybridizing with (discoid) Wetter 569A ((a. fastigiata). Radiate taxon much more common. There has certainly been some gene flow between G. fastigiata and this population. Throwing with usual grasses and other weeds. Elev. 4500-5000 ft. Mark Allen Wetter 569B 17 Sep 1979 02877381
