Plants of COLORADO Grindelia squarrosa (Pursh) Dunal var. serrulata (Rydb.) Steyerm. CO: La Plata Co. Along hwy US 160, 6.6 ml E of La Plata-Montezuma Co. line, 4.3 mi W of jct US 160 & CO 140 near Hesperus, 14.8 mi W of jct US 160 & US 550 at Durango. Plants not at all common, only 4-5 present. Growing at edge of hwy and along a gravelly field access road. 3.8-4.4 dm tall. Most with multiple stems from the base. Biennials. There is a large population of G. arizonica var. stenophylla (Wetter 891) at this same location. NO hybrids found. G^ arizonica is the predominant form. Elev. 8300 ft.
