GUYANA. Cuyuni-Mazaruni. Cara Creek, along the banks and on small
islands in creek, to 5°32'50.3"N, 60°53'47.9"W and 506 m elevation
(south of Camp 4); tributary of Kako River, near border with Venezuela.
543 m 5°32'43"N 60°54'9.8"W. Islands formed from gravel bars, prone to
scouring, rich in herbs and shrubs. Rock substrate of pink sandstone and
red chert. Emergent aquatic herb. Leaf bases brown. Heads immature.
