Plants growing in black, clay soil in low area
adjacent to shoulder and in adjoining field. Up
to 4.5 ft. tall, branching from base and indivi-
dual stems branching well above the middle.
Young buds very resinous, lower leaves absent.
Growing in a thick tangle of grasses.
