Plants of TEXAS Grindelia lanceolata Nutt. var. texana (Scheele) Shinn. TX: Kendell Co., Along rd to Cascade Cave (Cascade Cave Rd) going W at I 10 exit,(Rt. 3 seen on one mailbox). 1.5 mi W of jet of this road with Dos Cerros Dr. Plants common but scattered along roadside in rocky soil and on adjacent limestone shelf. Plants not forming large clumps, but some have several stems arising from woody base, perhaps perennial, some have old stems persisting but may be this years stems that flowered earlier. Most plants well past flowering, a few with buds, most have lost all their lower leaves. 3 - 3.5 ft. tall. Growing with various grasses, Liatris, Juniperus and live-oak.
