Plants common but scattered in rocky (limestone)
wash along stream, at maker no. 10 of Hiker
Highlights makers, some growing in stream bed,
others at base of adjacent cliff. 1.5-2.5 ft.
tall, obviously perennial from woody rootstock,
some with persistent stalks from year before.
Heads seem to be of two different shapes, also
variation in leaf morph.
