The New York Botanical Garden Plants of UTAH Grindelia laciniata Rydb. UT: San Juan Co. Along US 666, 1.3 mi W of CO-UT state line. Turnoff area adjacent to Summit Rd. exit, across hwy from picnic tables, 15.9 mi E of jet US 666 & US 163 [US 191] in Monticello. Plants rare, only a couple seen, growing in rocky area. 1.0-2.0 ft. tall, not flowering, only in bud. Growing in close prox. to Wetter 645 (G. laciniata), but the plants in this collection have leaves mostly entire, and the heads are of slightly different shape than those of Wetter 645. G. squarrosa var. serrulata (Wetter 646) is also growing in the immediate area. Elev. 6800-7000 ft. Mark Allen Wetter 644 07 Jul 1980 02876610
