The New York Botanical Garden Plants of UTAH Grindelia laciniata Rydb. UT: San Juan Co. Along US 666, 4.1 mi W of Utah-Colorado state line, 11.8 mi E of jet US 666 & US 191 at Monticello. Plants common in rocky, clay soil on hwy shoulder and adjacent gravel road shoulder. Most plants with multiple stems from a taproot. 1.0-1.7 ft. tall. Perennials. Growing in sagebrush-juniper area. Also growing intermixed and apparently hybridizing (Wetter & Delendick 776B & 776C) with G. sauarrosa (Pursh) Dunal var. serrulata (Rydb.) Steyerm. (Wetter 776D). Upright bracts, narrow heads.
