jet US 191 & US 666 in Monticello, this at
the jet with San Juan Co. Rd. 149 (begin
Gordon Reservoir).
Scattered along hwy shoulder, at edges of
field, in Artemisia dominated pasture and
among pifion woodlands in clayish soil. Also
along margins of hwy and gravel road. 0.4-
1.5 ft. tall, most with 2-several stems from
the base. Perennials, some with last year’s
flowering stalks still attached. Most just
starting to flower.
This collection is from the same population
as that of Wetter 720 (14 Aug 1980), Wetter &
Delendick 777 (14 Aug 1984), Wetter 888 (03
Sep 1985) & Wetter 985 (28 Aug 1986).
