The New York Botanical Garden Plants of COLORADO Grindelia inornata E. Greene CO. Park Co.: along US 24, 2.9 mi W of Wilkerson Pass summit. Plants very numerous in rocky soil of shoulder of hwy. 1.1-2.2 ft. tall. Most with multiple stems from the base. Apparently perennial, flowering stems and basal rosettes from same rootstock. Heads very resinous, foliage highly variable. Ants common on plants. Grassland area. Growing and apparently hybridizing (Wetter 728) with the radiate G. subalpina E.
