Wilkerson Pass summit.
Plants very numerous in rocky soil of
shoulder of hwy. 1.1-2.2 ft. tall. Most
with multiple stems from the base.
Apparently perennial, flowering stems and
basal rosettes from same rootstock. Heads
very resinous, foliage highly variable. Ants
common on plants. Grassland area. Growing
and apparently hybridizing (Wetter 728) with
the radiate G. subalpina E. Greene (Wetter
726). 727 is the predominant taxon at this
location.
