Very common along hwy shoulders and bar ditch
in rocky soil. 0.5-1.5 ft. tall. Perennial.
Most with multiple stems from the base, a few
with only 1-2 stems. Growing intermixed with
the radiate G. subalpina E. Greene (Wetter
1047), and possibly hybridizing with it.
Hybrids between these two taxa are known to
occur in Park & Teller Cos. G.
inornata is the predominate taxon at this
location.
