Grindelia fastigiata E. Greene
UT: Grand Co. Along Interstate-70, 13.0 mi W of Utah-Colorado state line, 5.7 mi E of Cisco exit.
Plants common along hwy and adjacent flat
shoulder areas, plants concentrated in water
run-off areas, gravelly soil. 1.5-2.5 ft.
tall, many well past flowering. Growing
intermixed and hybridizing with Wetter 570
(£. squarrosa var. serrulata). Both
collections, Wetter 570 & 571, represent a
hybrid swarm between these two taxa. These
plants show numerous intermediate
characteristics between these two taxa,
although plants in this collection (Wetter
571) are closer to true (a. fastigiata.
Young heads, especially those in leaf axils
very resinous.
