Plants of COLORADO Grindelia decumbens E. Greene var. decumbens CO: Montrose Co. Along US 50, 2.9 ml W of Montrose-Gunnison Co. line, 1.3 ml E of Cimarron, at the power station (transformers) near Cimarron. Plants only seen growing right at edge of hwy in rocky shoulder, right at point where pavement ends. 2.4-4.1 dm tall. Most plants with multiple stems from woody taproot. Obviously perennial, with new rosettes forming on flowering plants. Area and plants possibly have been mowed. Elev. 7000-7200 ft. Mark Allen Wetter 869 01 Sep 1985 Univ. of Wisconsin Herbarium (WIS).
