Plants of ARIZONA Grindelia arizonica A. Gray var. arizonica AZ. Navajo Co.: along US 60, 8.0 mi NE of jet US 60 & AZ 260 at Show Low, 7.5 mi NE of jet US 60 & AZ 77, 1.7 mi SW of Navajo-Apache Co. line. Plants very common in rocky soil along hwy shoulder and in small bar ditch. This an opening in pine-juniper woodland. 0.5-1.5 ft. tall. Most low in stature for this species. Most with numerous stems from the base. Some appear to be perennial, flowering plants forming new rosettes. Leaf shape varies from entire to pinnatifid throughout the pqpulation.
