Plants of ARIZONA Grindelia arizonica A. Gray var. arizonica AZ. Navajo Co.: along AZ 260, 2.75 mi W of jct AZ 260 & AZ 73 at Hon Dah, this just outside the city limits of Lakeside - Pinetop area, 11.95 mi E of jct AZ 260 & US 60. Plants scattered along hwy shoulder in loose, sandy, loamy soil, this an opening in a pine forest. 1.4-3.0 ft. tall. Most with one main stem. Some tall and willowy. Most appear to be biennial, but a few appear to be forming new rosettes on flowering plants. Growing with various weeds including Melilotus & mullein. Elev. 7000-7200 ft.
