yo^ BOTANICAL IMS A s The New York Botanical Garden Plants of U.S.A. 20? 2- Rosaceae Rubus caesius L. (=Rubus dumetorum Weihe ex Boenn.?) det. M. Nee, 2010 New York State, Bronx Co., Bronx, along Mosholu Parkway, in park between Mosholu Parkway and Mosholu Parkway South, near Marion Ave. 40°52’14”N, 73°52’52”W. alt. 21 m. Under dense stand of young Primus serotina, Acer negundo, Zelkova, surely not planted. No plants over 0.6 m. tall, even where growing over one another. Primocanes prostrate unless in dense patches, to 2 m. or more long, evidently strongly rooting but only at the tip. Petals very pale pink, some appearing almost white from a distance; filaments pink; anthers creamy white. This collection exactly matches a cultivated specimen at the New York Botanical Garden about Va km to the east, obtained from Kew in 1901, identified as Rubus dumetorum and planted in the Nursery, collected 15 June 1905, W. W Eggleston & R C. Schneider 23551 (NY). The comment “Dead” was written on this sheet, probably soon after the collection. NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN 02865456 Coll.: M. Nee 56408 20 June 2009 02865456
