Cara Creek, along the banks and on small islands in creek, to 5°32'50.3"N, 60°53'47.9"W and 506 m elevation (south of Camp 4); tributary of Kako River, near border witl; \ cnezuela. 543 m. 5°32'43"N 60°54'9.8"W. Islands formed from gravel bars, prone to scouring, rich in herbs and shrubs. Rock substrate of pink sandstone and red chert. Herb 0.5m. In gravel bars. Leaf bases beige.
