RANCHO SANTA ANA BOTANIC GARDEN Plants of Riverside County, California, USA ASTERACEAE Solidago occidentalis (Nutt.) T. & G. Southern Santa Ana Mountains, San Mateo Canyon Wilderness Area. Upper San Mateo Canyon, from the junction of Tenaja Road (7S01) and Los Alamos Road (7S04) at the confluence of Los Alamos Creek, up the San Mateo Trail north to Potrero de la Cienega, T7S R5W portions of secs. 3,4,9,15, & 16. Elev. 1300' - 2200'. Mosaic of Adenostoma fasciculatum - Ceanothus crassifolius chaparral and Eriogonum fasciculatum - Salvia apiana coastal sage scrub on slopes, with scattered stands of Quercus agrifolia woodland, and riparian woodland of Platanus racemosa, Salix lasiolepis, and Baccharis salicifolia in canyon bottom.
