of Chittyville Road, at bend in gravel drive. 1.5 mile
due east-northeast of Herrin. Vicinity of reclaimed
Consolidated Coal Company mine. Johnston City 7.5’
quadrangle. Elevation 400 feet. Wet silty sand, poorly
drained; disturbed.
Cleared area west of margin of oak forest and gravel
road; wet fallow cropland; Juncus tenuis, Geranium
carolinianum, Poa annua, Centunculus, Plantago spp.,
Krigia oppositifolia. Locally common tufted annual
sedge at field margin.
