N.V. Tabac [Aneityum]
leaf A rolling medium for cigarettes. Collect the
mature, yellow leaves roll it between one’s hands,
squeezing it, and then drying it in the sun for a
day. Alternatively, it can be dried by hanging it in
the kitchen near the place where fires are made.
When it turns black, approximately within one
week, it is ready to be smoked. Roll it around the
tobacco, as rolling paper.
leaf A plant insecticide. Take 6-10 leaves, roll
them up and squeeze them into a bucket of wa-
ter mixing the juice with the water until it turns
somewhat green. Use this water to wash crops
such as legumes and other garden plants to kill
insects that might be attacking them.
