N.V. Neiak [Aneityum]
stem A wild foraged food. Roast the tuber of
this vine on an open fire for 20-40 minutes, peel
off the skin and eat like cassava or taro. Chew it
and drink the “juice” while spitting out the fiber.
The season of harvesting is in May, and during
that time it is considered a delicacy.
