fruit The young fruits can be eaten fresh, or the
ripe fruits can be eaten fresh or roasted on a fire
and eaten. The ripe fruits are said to be sweeter
when eaten fresh than the young fruits.
leaf The young leaves can be eaten with pieces
of coconut meat (endosperm); these leaves can
also be cooked in a soup-with taro or manihot.
