leaf A frond of this plant is used as a wrapping
when cooking laplap—a traditional food made of
grated tubers. Before the laplap is placed in a
ground oven to cook, it is first wrapped in an-
other leaf. This leaf is then placed over the first
wrapping as a secondary wrapper.
