stem Used as an emergency water supply af-
ter coconuts during drought. Vines are cut and
squeezed for fresh water.
seed Seeds are used by children to play custom-
ary games.
seed Nut is poisonous and is used to catch feral
chickens. White endosperm is grated on rachis of
“Black Palm” (Cyathea sp.). It is then spread on
the ground near chickens.
seed Drill hole in black seed. String 4 or 5 to-
gether to be worn on the ankles as a noise-maker.
Used by men and women during kastom cere-
monies.
