  • Description

    Pileus 2.5-6.5 cm broad, obscurely subconic to subumbonate, viscid-glutinous, soon dry to sticky and with marshmallow consistency, subtomentose to appressed subtomentose beneath gluten, with fibrils sometimes agglutinated when dry, dark brown (8F8,7) becoming a lighter brown (6-7E8,7) with age, with a whitish sterile appendiculate margin. Flesh white, unchanging, with mild odor and taste. Tubes adnexed, white at first, soon vinaceous pink, usually bruising brown on pores with age. Stipe 5-14.5 cm long, 8-12 mm broad, equal to slightly broader toward base, coarsely lacunose-reticulate, whitish at apex, pale cinnamon brown to pinkish brown below, becoming white at base, with white rhizomorphs, with interior white, unchanging, sometimes with yellow tints, becoming hollow.
