with several to numerous main stems from the
caudex, each stem up to 1.5 m tall and bushy-
branched. Specimen from a branchlet. Open,
upland, second-growth longleaf piner-oak stand.
Apalachicola National Forest, just to E of Dog
Lake, generally SVf of Tallahassee, Some
associates: Warea sessilifolia, Rubus cunei-
folius, Andropogon virginicus, Schizochyrium
sanguineum, Aristida spp., Lechea sp., Diospy-
ros virginiana, Quercus incana, Q, laevis, Q.
margaretta, Vaccinium stamineum.
