WISCONSIN IOWA COUNTY Shrubs, mostly 7.3 10.1 dm tall; mat hypanthia red (few plants) to usually orange-red. Extensive lowland prairie on huge outwash sand terrace along Wisconsin River 2 mi. E of AVOCA. Dry- mesic segments dominated by Andropogon scoparius, Sporobolus heterolepis, & Koeleria macrantha (on low swells) grading to wet segments dominated by Andropogon gerardii. Panicum virgatum. & Spartina pectinata (in shallow swales), the Rosa in Dry-mesic prairie, with Elymus virginicus. E. canadensis, Prunus pumila. Solidago canadensis.
