Nee, 2006 New York State, Bronx Co., Bronx, median strip with grass and scattered ornamental trees, Southern Blvd., between entrances to New York Botanical Garden and Fordham University. 40°51 ’42”N, 73°52’53”W. alt. 98 ft. Small tree 4 m. tall, 8 cm. in diameter. Same plant collected in fruit under no. Nee 52884, 12 Sept. 2004. Now in full bloom; flowers with mousy odor, not pleasant. Petals pale pink in bud, white when flowers open; anthers purple when filaments incurved, black when they are straight and with light yellow pollen; filaments white; style pale yellow-green. A few old dried fruits, many of which have been chewed open. 02854179
