ROSACEAE Prunus virginiana L.
Clump of slender shrubs to 3 m. tall. Flowers with
sweet musty fragrance, white with light yellowish center.
Former prairie along railroad right-of-way, now brushy
and overgrown with Ulmus americana, Quercus macrocar pa,
Prunus serotina (this just beginning to bloom), Corylus
americana.
3 miles southeast of RICHLAND CENTER.
