DEPOSITED IN 1980 AT NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN (NY) ON INDEFINITE LOAN FROM BROOKLYN BOTANIC GARDEN (BKL) Cbanothus vestitus Greene, Pittonia, 211101. 1890. j > No. 8223, collected May 10, along the base of the foothills | sbftth of Bishop, Inyo county, growing in coarse graaite^sand> In the Synoptical Flora, page 416, this is referred to as a pos- I gible hybrid of C. cuneatus and crassifolius, and in my notes, ] probably taken from a specimen in^he herbarium of the Uni- j versity of California, I have writte^^aid . to be a hybrid with C. cordulatus.” It certainly is not fc Biybrid here, for no other member of the genus grows in the vicinity.
