228. Eriophyllum lanatum (Pursh) Forbes, var.
Syn. Eriophyllum Greenei Elmer, Bot. Gaz. 41:313 (1906) (?).
Northerly slope of Cobb Mountain, Lake County, in the Transi-
tion Zone, about 300 m. (in altitude) below the summit.
Common in rather open forests of Pmus ponderosa, where exposed
to the sun.
Rays 10 to 14, yellow. Heads smaller and more numerous than in
typical E. Greenei.
