Description
Forming dense patches among boulders, to 2-3 m. tall in protected areas, lower in exposed areas; young shoots glutinous, bright medium yellow-green, flushed dark purple more or less completely on some, others lighter yellow-green or to yellow-orange on older; bracts light straw, flushed purple on those in protected areas. Blooming almost soley just at peak in the most exposed area, and some blooming from ground level on more or less stoloniferous branches; leaves matte medium yellow-green above, matte medium bluish-green beneath; spikelets varying from light tan to flushed dark purple,. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
