In wash coming into Red Rock at right angles from west. With Larrea, Franseria dumosa, Cassia armata, etc. Frequent. In hard alkali-sand mix with much gravel.

Usually divaricately branched from base upward, very hispid; rays 8-10, golden yellow; anthers yellow; pappus vestigial. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
