Drupes ellipsoidal, most are red or orange,
the "ripest" ones dark blue (and terribly
stringent-bitter), fruits with waxy bloom;
small single-trunked tree, with very dense
thorny tangled crown (and one bird nest);
open sunny field on e. side of Fla 271,
5 mi n. of jet with US 90.
