Flora of the Paumonek Wetland, Long Island
Eurybia divaricata (L.) Nesom
NEW YORK, SUFFOLK CO.: Huntington Station, in the Paumonek Wetland, west of Walt Whitman High School. On a dry slope at the
woods edge. In full flower; ray petals pure white, newly opened
disk flowers yellow changing to purple. Very common.
Growing in an Oak-Hickory Mesic Woodland with Carya,
Lindera benzoin, Celastrus orbiculatus, Lonicera japonica, and
Phytolacca americana.
