forest of PopuluS deltoides, Carya, Quercus
nigra and thickets of tangled vines of
SmilaX, Aristolochia and Dioscorea. 270 m.
perhaps intergrading with _P. mexicana; peti-
ole glabrous on lower side, branchlets glab-
rous, but lower leaf surface somewhat hairy.
