  • Habitat

    Primarily at the wet edge of a Phragmites marsh, although also scattered throughout the wet grassy prairie. With, Phragmites australis, Quercus macrocarpa, Daucus carota, Solidao spp., Asclepias verticillata, Agalinus, Rhamnus cathartica, and a few individuals of Spiranthes incurva (already out of flower).

  • Description

    Flowers ivory-white, tubular in profile, lateral sepals sweeping upward, fragrant with vanilla & licorice. Very common, ca. 200 stems visible. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
