Habitat
Central Tallgrass Prairie. Open wet prairie with shrubby borders. Soil very wet, some areas with standing / slowly flowing water. One of the few natural areas in the region. Growing with Spiranthes magnicamporum, Spiranthes incurva, Liatris, and Eryngium yuccifolium.

Flowers beautiful deep cobalt blue. Uncommon. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
