    Dense growth in shelter of shrubs and rocks, little to no growth in spaces between shrubs, Annual; auricles present; ligule membranous with hairy fringe; sheath opening closed >¼ length; [glume] tip pointed; lemma tip pointed; floret number generally 4. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.

Ambrosia dumosa, Ephedra, Larrea. Others: Mirabilis,
Grayia, Rafinesquia, Eriogonum fasciculatum, Krameria
erecta, Ambrosia salsola, Lepidium fremontii.
