Beacon (opposite Newburgh); east bank of the Hudson River, about 0.1 mile north of Route 1-84 (Newburgh-Beacon) bridge. East of Metro-North Railroad tracks. Elevation 100-140 feet. Upland slopes, humus over gneissic boulders and outcrops. Mesic upland forest, very degraded, dominated by Acer platanoides, Vitis, Quercus spp., Ulmus, upslope from river. Locally common in clearing, dumping ground along undeveloped road. Leaves white - glaucous beneath, flowers yellow. Steven R. Hill 34080 17 July 2001 02828960
