    Dominates include Ambrosia dumosa, Ephedra, & Larrea. Others: Mirabilis, Grayia, Rafinesque, [see label for full list]. Broken quartzite gravel on S exposure.

  • Description

    Hebaceous annual; tap root; basal leaves, densely hairy; inflorescence a spike; sepals 5, partially united at base; petals 4, translucent. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.

    This and Dichelostemma formed a widespread patina on the desert floor.

Ambrosia dumosa, Ephedra, Larrea. Others: Mirabilis,
Grayia, Rafinesquia, Eriogonum fasciculatum, Krameria
erecta, Ambrosia salsola, Lepidium fremontii.
Herbaceous annual; tap root; basal leaves, densely hairy;
