Growing up through and supported by a shrub. Dominates include: Ambrosia dumosa, Ephedra, Larrea. Others: Mirabilis, Grayia, Rafinesquia, [see label for full list]. Common. Mainly broken quartzite, limestone.

Description
Herbaceous annual; stem 4dm; basal and cauline leaves, lobed, diminished distally; inflorescence ligulate, terminal on stems; outer ray flowers with magenta strips on abaxial surface. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
