    See copy of letter dated 16 Jul 1956 from J. R. Swallen (Smithsonian) to D. D. Keck (New York Botanical Garden) about the loan of this specimen for identification, which he says previously he had told J. Monachino the Britton & Brown illustration was Aegilops cylindrica, but on now seeing the specimen behind the illustration, the specimen is Aegilops triuncialis. Also a copy of the letter dated 26 July 1956 from D. D. Keck to J. R. Swallen mentioning the specimen is attached on the sheet.
