meadows and roadsides especially westward. Common also on the
shores of the Great Lakes and the Atlantic Ooast in salt and alka-
li meadows. From New York to the Great lakes, Iowa, Wright
county (introduced) to California and Alaska. Common in Rocky
Mountain country from New Mexico to Utah and Montana. Na-
