Douglas-fir and ponderosa pine forest, disturbed. Slope ca 30°, east-facing, soil thin, rocky, from basalt. Abundant shrub to 2 m with Holodiscus discolor, Agropyron spicatum, Philadelphus lewisii, Rosa nutkana. Flowers off-white.
