Mississippi River floodplain. McClure 7.5 minute
U.S.G.S. quadrangle. Elevation 340 feet. Disturbed
moist alluvial sandy loam and muck; drainage ditch.
Floodplain forest, wet, degraded, dominated by
Forestiera acuminata, Acer negundo, Acer
saccharinum, Celtis laevigata, Cephalanthus
occidentalism Ulmus americana. Locally frequent
perennial colonial sedge with rhizomatous base; stem
base reddish, stems flattened, non-septate.
