Cyperaceae
PLANTS OF FLORIDA, USA
Eleocharis flavescens (Poir.) Urban
var. olivacea (Torr.) Gleason
FRANKLIN CO.: Common in wet, mucky soil around pond in Carrabelle
community park by Hwy 98. Lat. 29.84936 N, Long. 84.66031 W.
Long perianth bristles and achene strongly constricted attubercle suggest £ olivacea,
but the dark reddish-brown achenes are more typical of E. flavescens, so in this case the
varietal status seems appropriate [see Fl. N. Am. 23:100].
