    Former chaco forest, now completely cleared for cotton and other crops, this the only "hill" along the highway, a small rise with sandy, blowing soil.

    Clumps of shrubs to 2 m tall; sap milky. Fruit green, about the same color as the leaves and difficult to locate; aril red; seed black.
