Decumbent perennial herb; central taproot pale brown, creamy
in section; white latex in stems; stems suffused with dark red;
dry stems of preceding year still present; leaves shiny both
sides, slightly succulent.
Sepals and immature fruit medium green; corolla limb pale
pink, throat yellow and and above it at base lobes white, tube
dark pink.
